WoW

Otherwise commonly known as World Of Gankcraft with the new release of the "honor" system. Or World Of Warcrap for the many bugs and glitches, or perhaps you know it as the wonderful World of Warcrack for it's addictive qualities like many MMORPGS.

With the recent patch with Blizzard's idea of a system that benefits the "Honorable" PvPers they didn't fine tune it and it was quite hastily released a few weeks back. The system gives points for "honorable" kills and does absolutely **NOTHING** for dishonorable kills. Dishonorable kill points are given when a civilian such as a quest giver or a merchant and other such things are murdered. Since dishonrable kill points do absolutely nothing what keeps a legion of alliance or horde from taking over a town and just setting up shop and farming honorable kills off the respawning and helpless guards? Nothing at all. Even those who come to aid the town are just setting themselves up to be another honorable kill point in the massive slaughter which is their humble village. This honor system rewards though who downright outnumber their opponent and those who have NO LIFE. In order to keep your ranking and other various things one has to constantly PvP to gain contribution points to keep their rank. One has to constantly spill blood on the field of battle so that they may keep their equipment in which they were able to receive through their newly acquired rank. As for the side that outnumbers, they can completely overrun a town and setup a raid or two and just farm honorable kill points over and over by killing guards in which are far weaker than them. On the servers I play on there are constant raids on towns which have hardly any fortifications and weak guards protecting it. The guards can be merely overrun by a group or 2 of lvl 60s which there are never just one group hanging around. There's literally a damn army who has made a town of opposite faction their farming grounds. Eventually they leave to get more water, food, or more commonly wait for a wave of reinforcements. This is giving the more populated side of the war a false sense of power. That mere numbers make up for a lack of skill and power. A skilled force could easily take out a few of the massive zerging army. There is always the problem there are LOTS of others around them, healing them and helping them kill the defenders. Zerging is a tactic in itself but it's not a very good one. Especially when the Battlegrounds [expansion, patch, or addon (whatever you like)] is released it gives a large PvP "arena" just like the name says a "battleground". Each faction has an EVEN number of players enter the area and begin a large full scale war on each other. The zerging tactic no longer applies in this arena as it boils everything down to skill and equipment. Even with the best equipment a player can be unbelievably bad but increases the chance to hurt an opponent or survive a conflict but not if your skill is completely lacking to your opponent's.

There are some other problems with the game other than the release of the above mentioned system. Such as the many quests that can't be completed due to the horrible rearranging of locations of buildings. The relocation of these buildings were indeed not planned very well at all because with the building being moved you have to move the objects inside the building for quests and other tidbits that go with the game. Such as a few quests in a location called "Andorhal" in the Eastern Plaguelands had the buildings relocated but the quest items were not moved along with the building. They are still in the same exact spot as they used to be, in fact you can see one of them floating about 40 feet in the air at the old site. There is also the "loot" bug in which when you try to loot a corpse it randomly inflicts this bug or glitch upon you and makes it so you are constantly looting the corpse or object. You can't do much of anything else instead of just floating around and pretending you're magical. Then restarting the game.

More updates on the games I am currently addicted to are on the way!
