I have been listening to a band call The Decemberists lately. I highly recommend them. More specifically I recommend their album called Her Majesty The Decemberists.
I originally heard them on a online radio station. I heard the song called The Soldiering Life (which you can legally download here). Instantly fell in love and went and bought their cd at audiolunchbox.
If you don't want to get the CD at least listen to the Soldiering Life. It gets 10 points for coolness.
Oh yes and they are RIAA FREE!
